Reading music: notes, beats and rhythm, sentence 4

People name things differently: in Britain a one-beat note is a crotchet, in America a quarter note; Northerners in England say "nowt" for nothing, Geordies say "howay" for come on and "divvent" for don't, and many players call written music "the dots".

Who acts: People, beat note, Northerners, Geordies, many players · What happens: name, be, say, come on, call, write · To what, where: things, crotchet, Britain, nowt, howay, written music · Speech: someone speaks here

This is a sentence of the lesson «Reading music: notes, beats and rhythm» of the arts course of Mova's primary school. The page gives its syntax tree — a dependency tree in the style of Universal Dependencies — and its pragmatics clause by clause: who acts (People, beat note, Northerners, Geordies), what happens, when and where, as Mova's frames read it from the tree.

The tree: Mova annot: Rust (en) → Haiku 5.5 (medium, Batches API) patches; gates UD 2.18; agreed by treeagree rules (Stanza, Trankit, spaCy trf): R7-rel-agree ×1, R8-pos-agree ×2. The frames are read from the tree by Mova's frames reader (prag) when this page is built, the lesson read in order, so a pronoun may be resolved from an earlier sentence.
