A female red-billed hornbill seals herself into a tree hole with mud and droppings, and the male feeds her and the chicks through a narrow slit; the wall keeps snakes, monkeys and other egg thieves out, and when the chicks are big the mother breaks out and the chicks seal the hole again behind her.
