Canada: a short story, sentence 2

In 1759 the British won the Battle of the Plains of Abraham and France gave up Canada, but French Canadians kept their language, which is why a Canadian cereal box has English on one side and French on the other.

Who acts: British, France, French Canadians, language, Canadian cereal box · What happens: win, give up, keep, be, have · To what, where: Battle, 1759, Canada, language, English, one side

The tree: Mova annot: Rust (en) → Haiku 5.5 (medium, Batches API) patches; gates UD 2.18; agreed by treeagree rules (Stanza, Trankit, spaCy trf): R3-conj-first ×1, R7-rel-agree ×1, R8-pos-agree ×1. The frames are read from the tree by Mova's frames reader (prag) when this page is built, the lesson read in order, so a pronoun may be resolved from an earlier sentence.
