Tenses: past, present and future, sentence 4
Storytellers often say "So I'm walking down the road, and this dog comes up to me..." to make a past story feel live; and in Irish English "I'm after eating my dinner" means I have just eaten, not that I'm about to.
Who acts: Storytellers, dog, past story, I, eating · What happens: say, walk down, come up, make, feel, eat · To what, where: road, Storytellers, past story, dinner, Irish English · Speech: someone speaks here
This is a sentence of the lesson «Tenses: past, present and future» of the language course of Mova's primary school. The page gives its syntax tree — a dependency tree in the style of Universal Dependencies — and its pragmatics clause by clause: who acts (Storytellers, dog, past story, I), what happens, when and where, as Mova's frames read it from the tree.
