Electricity at home: switches, plugs, fuses and alarms, sentence 9
A fuse is a thin wire that melts if too much current (flow of electricity) flows, breaking the circuit (the loop of wire the electricity runs round) before the wires overheat; the number on it tells how many amps it allows.
Who acts: fuse, thin wire, much current, electricity, wires, number · What happens: be, melt, flow, break, run, overheat · To what, where: thin wire, circuit, loop, many amps · Speech: someone speaks here
This is a sentence of the lesson «Electricity at home: switches, plugs, fuses and alarms» of the technology course of Mova's primary school. The page gives its syntax tree — a dependency tree in the style of Universal Dependencies — and its pragmatics clause by clause: who acts (fuse, thin wire, much current, electricity), what happens, when and where, as Mova's frames read it from the tree.
