The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Chapter XIX. Attacked by the Fighting Trees, sentence 47

The other trees of the forest did nothing to keep them back, so they made up their minds that only the first row of trees could bend down their branches, and that probably these were the policemen of the forest, and given this wonderful power in order to keep strangers out of it.

Who acts: other trees, branches, first row, these · What happens: do, keep back, make up, bend down, be, give · To what, where: nothing, branches, minds, policemen, wonderful power, order

This is a sentence of «The Wonderful Wizard of Oz» by L. Frank Baum, Chapter XIX. Attacked by the Fighting Trees. The page gives its syntax tree — a dependency tree in the style of Universal Dependencies — and its pragmatics clause by clause: who acts (other trees, branches, first row, these), what happens, when and where, as Mova's frames read it from the tree.

Parsed by Mova, not checked by a teacher. This tree is Mova's own parse (the en model, on the CPU, when the site is built); it may be wrong.
