Moscow, sentence 21

From Wikipedia, «Moscow», revision of the 2026-09-01 dump, CC BY-SA 4.0. The trees and pragmatics of these pages, Mova's parse of that text, are CC BY-SA 4.0 too.

The most linguistically well-grounded and widely accepted is from the Proto-Balto-Slavic root *mŭzg-/muzg- from the Proto-Indo-European meu- "wet", so the name Moskva might signify a river at a wetland or marsh.

Who acts: name · What happens: ground, accept, be, signify · To what, where: Proto Slavic root, river, wetland
