sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: God gave nations their places and their gods, and these gods were not given to Israel. This is a warning against worshipping other gods. Elsewhere "allotted" means given as a fixed share, such as one's daily bread, or the land divided to the tribes as an inheritance. Interpretation: Tradition says God gave the other nations their own powers and stars, but Israel belongs to God alone. The tradition reads the allotted bread as asking only for what one needs, and the allotted land as a gift from God. In the primary lessons: In maths problems allotted time or money is a fixed amount to split up or to stay within: "In the allotted 30 minutes she answered 15 questions, so 2 minutes per question". In tests "finish within the allotted time" means do not go over. In the UK an allotment is a small piece of land rented for growing vegetables. Phrases: allotted time, allotted space, allotted to, allotted share.
