In Job and Psalms it is also used for a person wasting away from longing or terror. Interpretation: The tradition reads such "consuming" as divine judgment, which Moses and Aaron often prayed against to spare the people. Psalms use the word to show how fear or pain can use up a person's strength. In the primary lessons: In science: animals that eat plants are primary consumers; a car consumes petrol. In maths: "the car consumed 6 litres" means it used 6 litres. Phrases: time-consuming, consumed by, consumed with jealousy.
