sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Torah it also means the edges of a field or garment, not only the tabernacle's corners. The poets also speak of a corner-stone, the stone that holds a building together, and a street corner. Interpretation: The law of pe'ah tells farmers to leave the corner of the field for the poor. The corners of the garment carry the tzitzit. The rejected stone that becomes the chief corner-stone is read as a picture of Israel, honoured by God after being scorned. In the primary lessons: maths: corners of shapes counted (a triangle has 3, a square 4, a cube 8; also called vertices); also a place, as in «the store on the corner»; sport: a corner kick in football; everyday life: the reading corner, turn the corner; stories: the cat cornered the mouse; safety: look out for cars at street corners
