meaning for a pupil

The woman Samson loved in the valley of Sorek. She was a Philistine who got his secret and betrayed him. tree →

sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: She is the woman who was paid by the Philistine lords to find out the secret of Samson's strength. She cut his hair and gave him to his enemies. Interpretation: Tradition sees Samson's downfall as a warning about following his eyes and desires. His hair marked his Nazirite vow, and so his strength came from keeping faith with God.
