enrich

«enrich» in Mova's judaism dictionary: To make something better, fuller or more interesting by… — its meaning for a pupil, its sense in the lessons and examples.

part of speech

verb (enrich, enriches, enriched, enriching)

meaning for a pupil

1) To make something better, fuller or more interesting by adding something good to it. tree →

2) To make someone richer, with more money. tree →

3) (science) To add useful things to soil, food or a substance, such as vitamins to flour or compost to soil. tree →

sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: It means to make rich or plentiful. God enriches the earth with rain, and Tyre enriched kings with its trade. Interpretation: The psalm praises God for watering the earth, and tradition sees rain as a gift from God alone. Ezekiel's lament shows the great wealth of Tyre, which was soon lost. In the primary lessons: In school and everyday life «enrich» is a positive word: reading enriches your vocabulary, trips enrich learning. In science and food labels: «enriched flour», «enriched with vitamins», «compost enriches the soil». In stories, a person who «enriched himself» often got rich in an unfair way.
