sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: It is used for a kind of flour offering, baked on a griddle with oil, made without leaven. A Levite was put in charge of the things baked on griddles for the Temple. Ezekiel was told to use an iron griddle as a wall of iron to act out the siege of Jerusalem. Interpretation: The rabbis counted this as one of the types of meal offering, with its own rules about the flour and oil. The priests ate most of it. Tradition reads Ezekiel's iron griddle as a sign that the city's fate was sealed.
