liv

«liv» in Mova's judaism dictionary: A short form of «living», as in «liv rm» for living room… — its meaning for a pupil, its sense in the lessons and examples.

part of speech

fragment / abbreviation; proper noun (Liv)

meaning for a pupil

1) A short form of «living», as in «liv rm» for living room in house adverts or notes. tree →

2) Liv: a girl's name, short for Olivia or a Scandinavian name meaning «life». tree →

3) (UK, informal) A short form sometimes used for Liverpool, especially in sports scores and lists. tree →

sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the family lists of Genesis, the word counts how many years each person lived before having a son. In the Psalms and Lamentations "living" means all that is alive, and "the land of the living" means this world in which a person walks before God. Interpretation: Tradition notes the very long lives of the early generations and reads the lists as the unbroken chain from Adam to Noah and to Abraham. It reads the psalms as teaching that God feeds every living thing and that life is a gift for serving Him. In the primary lessons: This is not a full English word. It appears in short notes, adverts and sports tables, or as a name in stories. When you see it, read it as «living», «Liv» (a name) or «Liverpool» depending on what is around it.
