In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Prophets and Writings it also means a hard question put to a wise person: the Queen of Sheba asked Solomon her questions and he answered all. Hezekiah also questioned the priests about the heaps of offerings. In the primary lessons: In maths: things counted on a test or quiz; also the asking sentence at the end of a word problem that tells what to find. In school: «put your hand up to ask a question». In science: a good investigation starts with a question. In stories: «out of the question» means impossible; «without question» means for sure.

note

Questions on a test are counted: right + wrong = all. The last sentence of a problem is the question and tells what to find. Trap: read the question (the last sentence) carefully before choosing the operation. Written questions end with «?». It is always fine to question something that seems wrong.
