sense in the lessons

Interpretation: In the Psalms, "to give thanks" means to praise God out loud for His mercy, and tradition makes this a central part of prayer. The Hebrew root also gives the word Modim, "we thank You," in the daily prayer. In the primary lessons: In everyday manners you say «Thanks!» or «Thanks a lot» when someone helps you or gives you something; «No, thanks» politely refuses. «Thanks to» explains a cause: «Thanks to the rain, the garden is green» (good or bad). In writing, a thank-you note or card says thanks for a present. In stories, characters give thanks at a feast; Thanksgiving is a holiday in the USA and Canada.
