sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: A headcloth wound round the head, here listed among finery of the women of Jerusalem and the dress of Babylonian officers. Interpretation: Isaiah lists such finery to warn against pride and love of show. Priests also wore a turban-like headdress, but in these verses it is simply fine dress. In the primary lessons: In religious education lessons, pupils learn that Sikhs wear a turban (dastar) to cover their uncut hair, as a sign of faith, equality and respect; turbans are also worn in parts of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In lessons on respect and diversity, children learn never to touch or tease someone's head covering. Phrases: «wear a turban», «tie a turban».
