sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: It is used for clothing, as in Joseph's fine linen clothes. In the psalms it is also a picture: the deep covers the earth like a garment, God changes the heavens like clothing, and the enemies cast lots for the speaker's clothes. Interpretation: Jacob's blessing of Judah pictures a land so full of wine that clothes could be washed in it. Joseph's fine linen clothes show that Pharaoh had made him ruler. The tradition reads the psalms as showing that the world is like a garment to God, who lasts forever.
