sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Torah it often means ritually cleansed, as when Moses washed Aaron and his sons to make them priests. In the Psalms "washed my hands in innocency" means keeping oneself free of wrongdoing, and in the Song of Songs it describes bathing feet and eyes "washed with milk." Interpretation: The washing of Aaron and his sons was part of their ordination. Tradition also links it with the immersion in a mikveh for purity. The Song of Songs is read as a love song between God and Israel. In the primary lessons: In hygiene lessons, washed hands have been rubbed with soap and water for about twenty seconds. In food safety, fruit and vegetables should be washed before eating. In geography and science, things washed up on the beach are brought by waves; floods can wash away roads and soil (erosion). Phrases: washed your hands, washed up on the beach, washed away, washed out, freshly washed.
