Papers

  1. The BEA-2019 Shared Task on Grammatical Error Correction (2019)
The paper reports on the BEA-2019 shared task on grammatical error correction, organised to restore comparable evaluation after five years in which systems had been reported on different corpora and metrics.
  2. Automatic Annotation and Evaluation of Error Types for Grammatical Error Correction (2017)
Grammatical error correction (GEC) systems were usually judged by a single overall score, and because system output carries no error labels, per-type performance could only be estimated through recall.
  3. Corpus Annotation for Parser Evaluation (1999)
Bracket-based parser scores (PARSEVAL) are hard to compare across grammars, because the bracketing of a treebank and the output of a parser differ in ways that are not errors.
  4. The Derivation of a Grammatically Indexed Lexicon from the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (1987)
The authors build a large lexicon with grammatical feature entries for a morphological and syntactic analyser (GPSG-based, from the Alvey toolkit project) by deriving it from the machine-readable Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (LDOCE).
