Ice Age: real sabre-tooths, ground sloths, glyptodonts and dodos, sentence 5

Smilodon could open its jaws about 120 degrees, much wider than a lion, so the long fangs did not get in the way of biting, and its bite was weaker than a lion's because the long fangs could snap on bone.

Who acts: Smilodon, long fangs, bite, kind · What happens: open, not get, be, snap, bite · To what, where: jaws, way, bone

The tree: Mova annot: Rust (en) → Haiku 5.5 (medium, Batches API) patches; gates UD 2.18; agreed by treeagree rules (Stanza, Trankit, spaCy trf): R5-strong ×1, R7-rel-agree ×1. The frames are read from the tree by Mova's frames reader (prag) when this page is built, the lesson read in order, so a pronoun may be resolved from an earlier sentence.
