The Wind in the Willows, chapter III, part 1: The Wild Wood (winter, and the Mole sets out alone), sentence 20

Summer is told as a play with flowers as actors: «Purple loosestrife arrived early», then «Willow-herb, tender and wistful, like a pink sunset cloud», then comfrey, then «the diffident and delaying dog-rose», and last «meadow-sweet ... in amber jerkin» — and then «the play was ready to begin» (diffident = shy; a jerkin = an old short jacket).

The tree: Mova annot: Rust (en) → Haiku 5.5 (medium, Batches API) patches; gates UD 2.18; agreed by treeagree rules (Stanza, Trankit, spaCy trf): R5-strong ×2, R6-punct-agree ×2, R7-rel-agree ×3. The frames are read from the tree by Mova's frames reader (prag) when this page is built, the lesson read in order, so a pronoun may be resolved from an earlier sentence.
