In early summer comes Duānwǔ jié, the Dragon Boat Festival, with races to a drumbeat and sticky rice parcels, zòngzi; it remembers a poet who drowned, so some families wish "Duānwǔ ānkāng" (a peaceful Duanwu) instead of "happy".
