Brackets, dashes, colons, semicolons and hyphens, sentence 4

A hyphen is a short join inside words, and it can change the story: a "man-eating shark" eats people, but a "man eating shark" is a man having shark for dinner, as a Cardiff gran might put it, "isn't it, cariad?" ("cariad" is Welsh for love or darling).

Who acts: hyphen, eating shark, man, Cardiff gran, cariad · What happens: be, change, eat, have, put · To what, where: short join, words, story, people, shark

The tree: Mova annot: Rust (en) → Haiku 5.5 (medium, Batches API) patches; gates UD 2.18; agreed by treeagree rules (Stanza, Trankit, spaCy trf): R6-punct-agree ×1, R7-rel-agree ×1, R8-pos-agree ×1. The frames are read from the tree by Mova's frames reader (prag) when this page is built, the lesson read in order, so a pronoun may be resolved from an earlier sentence.
