In 1939 Hitler and Stalin secretly split eastern Europe between them, and the Soviet Union took Galicia and Volhynia from Poland; the teacher used the old Soviet word «reunification», but Danylo's grandmother remembered arrests and deportations (people forced from their homes and sent far away), so for many families it was an occupation.

Who acts: Hitler, Soviet Union, teacher, grandmother · What happens: split, take, use, remember, force, send · To what, where: eastern Europe, 1939, Galicia, Poland, old Soviet word, arrests

The tree: Mova annot: Rust (en) → Haiku 5.5 (medium, Batches API) patches; gates UD 2.18; agreed by treeagree rules (Stanza, Trankit, spaCy trf): R5-strong ×1, R6-punct-agree ×1, R7-rel-agree ×4. The frames are read from the tree by Mova's frames reader (prag) when this page is built, the lesson read in order, so a pronoun may be resolved from an earlier sentence.
