Before he died, Grandad asked Ellie to look after his garden, and every week she waters his tomatoes: keeping a promise to someone who has died is a way of honouring them and keeping their love alive, and families try to follow wishes like Sophie's nan's, to have her ashes scattered at the beach where she grew up.
