sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Sefer Yetzirah passage the builders are people who learned Abraham's secret of creating by letters and numbers and then copied him. Tradition does not treat them as equal to him. In the Tanakh builders are workmen who build walls and ships, and the psalm says the stone the builders rejected became the chief corner-stone. Interpretation: The rabbis read the rejected stone as a picture of Israel, or of a person whom others looked down on, whom God raises up. Nehemiah's builders, each with a sword at his side, are read as a sign of faith joined with watchfulness. In the primary lessons: In everyday life, builders work on houses, schools and roads, wearing hard hats and high-visibility jackets. In safety lessons, building sites are dangerous places to play: there are holes, machines and falling objects. In stories and songs, like «Bob the Builder», builders fix and make things. Phrases: «a team of builders», «confidence builder».
