sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Torah the cloud is the visible sign of God's presence, which covered the mountain and the tabernacle and led Israel by day. In Job and the Psalms clouds are the weather God rules and a veil around his throne. Interpretation: Tradition calls it the "cloud of glory" (ananei hakavod) and says it guided and sheltered Israel in the desert. The festival of Sukkot is read by some as recalling these clouds. Job's clouds are read as showing that God's ways are too wise for people to fully see. In the primary lessons: In science: the water cycle — water evaporates, water vapour cools and condenses into clouds, then falls as rain, snow or hail (precipitation); types: cumulus (fluffy), stratus (flat grey), cirrus (high wispy), cumulonimbus (storm clouds). Dark clouds often mean rain. In computing: saving to the cloud. Phrases: rain clouds, storm clouds, cloud of smoke, on cloud nine, every cloud has a silver lining, cloudy, the cloud.
