sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In Numbers, each tribe of Israel camped under its own banner or standard, and the ensigns marked the tribes' places around the tent of meeting. In the Prophets, an ensign raised on a mountain is a signal calling people together, whether an army or nations coming home. Interpretation: Tradition says each tribe had its own flag with its own color and emblem, and the orderly camp showed that each tribe had its own place and task. Isaiah's ensign for the peoples is read as a sign for the nations to bring Israel home and to know God.
