sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the phrase "heave-offering" it means a portion lifted up and set apart for the priests, not something heaved with effort. Interpretation: The rabbis explain that the portion was lifted up toward God and then given to the priests. This is called terumah, "that which is raised up." In the primary lessons: Everyday: helping to lift things, «heave-ho!» when pulling together. Stories of the sea: «heave the anchor», «the ship hove to». PE and science: forces — heaving is pushing or pulling with a big force. «Heave a sigh of relief» shows a feeling ending.
