sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: "Hold your peace" means keep quiet; "pangs take hold" means seize. It can also mean to grip tightly, as in "hold fast deceit", meaning to cling to lies. Interpretation: At the sea Moses tells Israel to be still because God will fight for them. Tradition sees this as trust in God. Jeremiah's "hold fast deceit" is read as a people clinging to false ways and refusing to repent. In the primary lessons: how many things one container or pack contains («A pack holds 3 cards» = size of one group; multiply by the number of packs); with a total given, «how many … needed» = divide by what one holds; in safety «hold hands when you cross», «hold the rail»; in everyday life «hold on» (wait), «hold your breath»
