sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: The food that fell from heaven each morning for the Israelites during their forty years in the desert. It looked like small seeds, and the people ground and baked it. Interpretation: Tradition says it tasted like whatever each person wished and that it taught trust in God, since none could be stored beyond the day except before Shabbat. A double portion fell on Friday, and a jar of it was kept as a reminder. In the primary lessons: In religious education the story in the book of Exodus tells how the people gathered manna each day, but only as much as they needed. In everyday speech «manna from heaven» means a lucky help just when you need it. Phrases: «manna from heaven», «like manna».
