note

Multiply the number of groups by the size of one group. Trap: a total shared into groups is divide, not multiply. The order does not change the answer: 3 × 4 = 4 × 3. Any number multiplied by 0 is 0; by 1 it stays the same. Forms: multiplies, multiplied (y to i). Noun «multiplication».
