sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: Here it describes a vow that a husband cancels so it has no power; "null and void" means completely cancelled. Interpretation: The law of vows in Numbers 30 lets a father or husband cancel a vow only on the day he hears of it. If he stays silent, the vow stands, and if he cancels it late, he bears the guilt.

examples

  • But if he shall make them null and void after that he hath heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity. (Torah NUM.30.15, JPS 1917) tree →
