sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: An offering is a sacrifice or gift brought to God, such as an animal, grain, or oil, burned or given at the altar or Tabernacle. Interpretation: The rabbis grouped offerings into kinds such as burnt, sin, meal, and freewill offerings, each with its own rules. After the Temple fell, they taught that prayer takes the place of the sacrifices. In the primary lessons: In church, the offering is collected in a plate or bag while a hymn is sung, and the money supports the church and the poor. In the Bible, Cain and Abel bring offerings to God. In other religions people also make offerings of flowers, food or light. In everyday life "offering" is often just the verb: "offering help". Phrases: "take up the offering", "peace offering", "harvest offering", "burnt offering".
