sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Torah it means food and supplies for a journey. Later it also means a store of food, such as Solomon's daily supply for his court, or God's blessing on Zion's food. Interpretation: Tradition sees Joseph's kindness to the brothers who had hurt him. He gives them food and supplies, and does not take revenge. The reading of Joshua says Israel took the Gibeonites' food and did not ask God, and so was fooled. In the primary lessons: In history and stories, explorers and sailors pack provisions for long journeys. In formal and exam language it means supply or arrangement: provision of services. In maths, provisions appear in sharing problems: food for 10 people for 5 days. Phrases: make provision for, run out of provisions.
