sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: The Torah forbids Israel to listen to soothsayers and diviners like other nations do. The prophets say God will remove soothsayers from Israel, and Isaiah rebukes the people for copying the Philistines; Balaam is called a soothsayer who was killed. Interpretation: Tradition reads this as a call to trust God and His prophets instead of magic, since the future is not for people to pry into. Balaam is read as someone with real gifts who used them for the wrong side. In the primary lessons: in tales, a wise person or magician who tells the future and gives warnings
