sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: The past of steal, as in Rachel stole the idols, and it can mean to take away secretly or to win by trickery. Interpretation: Rachel took her father's household idols (teraphim) when the family left. Commentators suggest she hoped to stop her father from worshipping them, and Jacob's curse on the thief later leads to her early death. Absalom is read as winning people's hearts by flattery, and Jehoshabeath's hiding of Joash is read as saving the Davidic line. In the primary lessons: In everyday life and lessons on right and wrong, pupils learn that stealing is wrong. In stories, a thief "stole" treasure; "stole the show" means was the best part of a performance. "Stole a glance" means looked quickly and secretly. Phrases: stole the show, stole a look, stole away.
