sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: Often means to marry ("take a wife"), to choose, or to bring something for a purpose. Interpretation: In Jewish law, "taking a wife" is the Torah's way of speaking of marriage. Other uses of "take" in offerings show the person choosing the animal. In the primary lessons: taking things off a place; taking away: «take away» and «takes N from» mean subtract; «it takes N minutes» tells a time; phrases: «take away», «take turns», «take care», «take off», «take part», «take a photo», «takeaway» (UK, a meal you buy and take home); in casual talk «take it easy», «I'll take two», «grab» for take; in rough talk «who took my bloody charger?», «take a hike»; in the exam voice «deduct», «withdraw», «the time required»

note
Past forms: took, taken. «take away» and «takes N from a place» mean subtract from that place. Trap: the one who takes gets more, so for the taker add. Trap: «it takes 3 hours» is a time, not a removal. «deduct», «withdraw», «remove» in an exam all mean take away. «Taking the mickey» is teasing, not taking anything. Safety: never take medicine without an adult.
