meaning for a pupil

sense in the lessons

Used almost always before a past participle to tell the reader something was done a moment ago, so it is new, clean or at its best: freshly made, freshly washed, freshly painted, freshly squeezed. In safety: «freshly painted» means wet paint — don't touch.

note

Adverb from «fresh» + «-ly». Usually comes right before a past participle (baked, cut, made). Do not use «freshly» for people feeling fresh: say «I feel fresh», not «I feel freshly».
