Papers

  1. Parsing Noun Phrases in the Penn Treebank (2011)
The Penn Treebank does not mark the internal structure of noun phrases, so statistical parsers cannot learn it.
  2. Adding Noun Phrase Structure to the Penn Treebank (2007)
The Penn Treebank leaves base noun phrases flat, so "Air Force contract" has no internal structure, and any parser trained on it cannot learn that "Air Force" is a unit.
