Papers

  1. Dependency Dialogue Acts — Annotation Scheme and Case Study (2023)
Dependency Dialogue Acts (DDA) is an annotation scheme for multi-party, multi-threaded talk (classroom group work, chat).
  2. Are you serious?: Rhetorical Questions and Sarcasm in Social Media Dialog (2017)
Rhetorical questions (questions not meant to get an answer) are collected with an intent-based heuristic: a question in the middle of a turn that the same speaker answers at once, without giving up the turn.
  3. Creating and Characterizing a Diverse Corpus of Sarcasm in Dialogue (2016)
The authors build a sarcasm corpus from online debate forums (Internet Argument Corpus 2.0) with three balanced parts: generic sarcasm, rhetorical questions and hyperbole.
  4. A Dependency Treebank for English (2002)
The paper describes the syntactic layer of the ISLE project, a small corpus of about 13,000 words of transcribed travel-agent speech with multiple annotation levels.
