sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Torah it means to demand payment of a debt. In the Prophets and Psalms it also means to force payment or work from people, as a harsh creditor or an enemy does. Interpretation: In the seventh year debts among Israelites are released, so a creditor may not press his neighbour, though a foreigner may be asked to pay. Isaiah scolds people who fast but still "exact all your labours" from their workers, and the tradition reads this as saying that true fasting means treating others fairly. In the primary lessons: In maths lessons pupils give an exact answer (not an estimate) and use exact measurements in science; «exact change» means the right money with no change due. In stories something happens at the exact moment. Phrases: the exact time, exact answer, exact copy, to be exact, the exact opposite.
