sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: The Hebrew "adamah" is the farmed soil from which Adam was made, and it is cursed or blessed according to people's deeds. Blood poured on the ground is returned to the earth. The prophets and psalms say that God can turn watered land into thirsty ground, that unjust people throw righteousness "to the ground," and that God brings the wicked down to the ground. Interpretation: The tradition notes that Adam (man) comes from adamah (ground), so people are tied to the earth and must care for it. Pouring blood out on the ground shows that life belongs to God. The later verses are read as showing that the land reflects the people's conduct and that God lifts the humble and lowers the wicked. In the primary lessons: In science, the ground is soil and rock; water soaks into the ground. In safety: the ground can be slippery or hot; in a fire stay close to the ground under the smoke; in an earthquake drop to the ground. Phrases: on the ground, ground floor, playground, underground, stand your ground, gain ground.
