sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: Used as in everyday English, for the warmth of the day and also for burning anger ("the heat of this great anger"). Interpretation: Tradition notes that God's promise after the Flood, that cold and heat will never cease, is a promise that the order of nature will continue. In the primary lessons: Temperature that rises by degrees, or cooking time; sometimes a round of a race. In science: heat makes ice melt and water boil; metal lets heat through fast, wool keeps it in. In safety: heat from a stove or the sun can burn; drink water in the heat. Phrases: «heat up», «in the heat», «heatwave», «central heating».
