sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: Leaven is forbidden on the altar in most meal-offerings, and during Passover none may be seen or eaten in Israelite homes for seven days. Interpretation: Tradition says leaven stands for pride or the evil urge that puffs a person up, while flat unleavened matzah stands for humility and for the haste of leaving Egypt. Before Passover Jewish families search the house for leaven and burn or sell what they find.
