sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In Exodus the Egyptians loathe the water because the Nile turns to blood, the first plague. In Job a suffering man loathes his life, and in Ezekiel the people will loathe themselves when they remember their evil ways. Interpretation: Tradition sees the plague of blood as a judgment on the Egyptians, since the Nile was worshipped as a god and was their pride. It reads Ezekiel's words as a picture of repentance, when people feel shame for their sins and return to God.
