sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: The Torah sets prices for redeeming a field or a person sold into slavery. The later books also use it for the worth of something, such as a good wife who is worth more than rubies, or the cost of buying water. Interpretation: The jubilee year counts the years left to work out the fair price. Proverbs' praise of a woman of valor is read as honoring her great worth, and Psalms and Lamentations use price for the shame of a people sold cheaply. In the primary lessons: In maths: the cost of one item or a group; price changes, sales, comparisons; «price per», «total price», «sale price». In everyday life: price tags, comparing prices when shopping, «half price». In stories: «at any price», «a high price to pay».

note
Price of one × number = total cost. «Went down/up by» means subtract/add. Trap: price «for 3» is not the price of one. «Half price» = price ÷ 2. To compare deals, find the price of one (unit price). Do not confuse price (money) with prize (something you win).
