sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Tanakh sleep is rest, but it is also a picture for being careless or lazy, as when Proverbs asks the sluggard "how long wilt thou sleep?" In Psalms people call on God to "awake" as if He were sleeping when He seems not to help. Interpretation: The tradition teaches that God never sleeps, so the psalmist's cry is read as the people's feeling that God is hidden, not as a fact. Proverbs is read as a warning against laziness. In the primary lessons: Maths: hours of sleep, often added over nights or compared; times from bedtime to waking. Health: children need about 9 to 12 hours of sleep. Science: animals that sleep through winter hibernate. Everyday: fall asleep, sleep in, sleepy, sleeping bag, «sleep on it» (think about it overnight).
