note

Comparison: high, higher, highest. Adverb is also high («fly high»); highly means «very» («highly skilled»), not «up». «X m high» gives a height; «higher than» gives a difference to add. Trap: «highest» asks to pick the biggest, not to add. Do not confuse high (up) with tall (people and thin things: a tall boy, but a high mountain). Homophone: hi (a greeting).
